This is the latest show from entaku, the creative team behind interactive exhibitions such as the “Too Nice a Person” exhibition. It is a hands-on, participatory display that turns a wealth of questions and answers into a way of enjoying the differences in values and sensibilities between yourself and other people. Throughout the venue, visitors answer everyday prompts — playful questions such as “How early is early in the morning?”, “Where would you want to go on a first date before you’re a couple?” and “Which hiragana character seems to have a bad personality?” As they respond, visitors discover their own individuality, notice how their answers differ from other people’s, and stumble on unexpected points in common. Because each visitor’s responses are added to the displays, the same question draws visibly different answers from different people, and the exhibition’s contents shift little by little as more answers accumulate — a sense of change that only a participatory format can offer. The venue is also filled with charming, playful touches designed to bring a smile, making it an experience meant to be shared and talked about with friends, a partner or family rather than simply viewed in silence.
