Addressing Japan’s Evolving Artistic Identity
This spring, WALL_alternative presents “Weaving Scenery with Harmony,” a curated exhibition featuring five contemporary artists whose work is deeply rooted in traditional Japanese aesthetics and philosophy. The exhibition invites visitors to explore how Japan’s sense of beauty continues to evolve through the lens of painting, calligraphy, sculpture, and ceramics.
Showcasing the works of Shinichi Kaneko, Jasmine Noda, Rintaro Hashiguchi, Kanji Hasegawa, and Yuka Mori, the exhibition asks: “How has Japan’s artistic identity transformed over time?” Each artist brings a different perspective.
