In case you’re planning to attend Fuji Rock, climb Mount Fuji or go camping this summer, the Tokyo Outdoor Weekend has what you need to survive the wilderness in style. Sporting a fresh new name, the (formerly) Tokyo Outdoor Show is back again this spring gracing the greenery of Yoyogi Park – and this year, extending all the way to some outdoor goods shops in the adjacent area.
Come here to stock up on all the latest gear you may need in the woods, and to learn more about the outdoor lifestyle culture – there is such a thing, apparently. In what we hope turns out to be clear weather, the entire weekend will be dotted with various activities: there’ll be bouldering/rock climbing, a stamp rally around Harajuku shops, test-driving a ‘three-hand bike’, a performance by a ‘Frisbee crew’, illustrations and live graffiti workshops, charity auctions, a secondhand book sale, a DIY area, a flea market area and even a fashion show of… outdoor wear.
If you’re not the outdoorsy type you can always just catch one of the many DJ and live performances on one of the stages, or learn how to make a good cup of espresso to be enjoyed out into the wild.
When: March 16-17, 10:00-18:00
