Daikozenji, a temple in Kyushu’s Saga Prefecture, is said to have been founded by Buddhist priest Gyouki in 717. That makes the temple 1,300 years old this year, and to celebrate, it’s been holding a variety of events including special concerts, Buddhist services and more.
The temple, which is filled with azaleas in spring, is also famous for its beautiful autumn leaves. There’s still time to check them out, so if you’re in Saga, head over to this breathtaking 1,300-year-old temple.
