The first thing you see when you walk through Daiwa Royal Hotel Grande Kyoto’s lattice entrance doors is an eight-meter-wide screen displaying the surrounds and traditions of Kyoto. Move a little closer and you’ll notice that it’s interactive, giving you the chance to have a bit of fun with the season-based images.
It’s the perfect welcome not only to the famed old capital of Japan, but also to this brand-new hotel, which fuses Japanese tradition and hospitality with cutting-edge technology and a global atmosphere.
The hotel is just a five-minute walk from Kyoto Station’s Hachijo East Exit, and is the flagship hotel of the Daiwa Royal Hotel City Co., Ltd, which plans to roll out 10 new premises by 2020. There are 272 non-smoking rooms all furnished with Simmons-made beds and coffee machines; a special executive area (7-9F) that caters to the specific needs of individual customers; and an Italian chef who will combine his deep knowledge of Japanese cuisine with international influences.
Although the official opening is only in June, the hotel began taking reservations in January, so you can already start planning your next trip to Kyoto with a stopover at Daiwa Royal Hotel Grande.
