Between May 11 to October 15 every year, three fishing masters head out into the dark waters of the Nagara River to practice an ancient craft with a history that dates back over 1,000 years. With only the light of a fire at the bow to guide them, they skillfully send trained cormorant birds into the water to catch sweetfish, the local specialty. Watch this art from the shore or on a wooden boat nearby.
