Before his second life as a chef, Mark Sekita worked in finance for international securities firms, but you wouldn’t know it by the way he cooks. He trained at the International Culinary Center in New York, and his restaurant experience in the States includes a stint at the famed Gramercy Tavern. At his cozy establishment located down a Ginza side street, he serves regularly changing course meals based around Japanese-inspired New American cuisine in a warm and friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like you were sitting in Mark’s kitchen, chatting with him over the counter as he prepares one scrumptious dish after the next.
