The Mejirodai International Village is a lodging facility for Tokyo University students and researchers. But the goal of the village, which had its grand opening on October 1, is not merely to house people. It’s to inspire and nourish them, both physically and intellectually, which is the main goal of the Village Marche café.
At Village Marche, you can get coffee, tea, desserts, and light snacks. But between October 1 and November 31, visitors to the café will also be able to feast their eyes on the “Seasons” 2019 autumn exhibit showcasing dishes, bowls, and containers etc. designed by some of Japan’s most prominent artists. They include Aya Yuki, Norio Nakagawa, Yuki Mori, or Keiji Yaguchi, whose works perfectly blend utility with Japanese traditions and sensibilities.
