This is Yukiko Matsushita’s first solo exhibition. She has been making wooden carvings and sculptures that demonstrate an overwhelming sense of sexuality, but this show features various sculptures of female figures in trance-like states. The title “Hai-kagura” refers to the dancing smoke and ash that billows forth when water is thrown onto hot embers.
