The Wahaku hostels are based on a concept of providing a comfortable space in which guests can collect Japanese experiences. Hostel Kura is the third location of the Wahaku series following the openings of Hotel Arata and Hostel Kotobuki. It is located by the Umaya-bashi Bridge, which has been the key spot of distribution since the Edo period and is just a 10-second walk from Kuramae Station. In addition to Narita and Haneda Airports, it has direct access to major sightseeing spots such as Asakusa, Ginza, Roppongi and more.
Hostel Kura has 10 floors with a variety of room types. The concept of the Wahaku series, Japanese culture, is well-reflected in the architecture, which includes yakisugi-ita, or burnt wood siding. The rooftop features a shrine called Kuramae Fushimi Inari. The red torii gates of the shrine, plus the superb view of Tokyo Skytree and the Sumida River make this rooftop unique. Finally, the entrance features calligraphy by noted calligrapher Soun Takeda.
As part of its grand opening promotion, Kura is giving guests a book for collecting stamps at local temples and shrines.
