Want to learn more about Harajuku, Japan’s capital of kawaii? Check out these three new walking tours, in which English-speaking guides give you the inside scoop. There are three walks to choose from.
The Kawaii Shopping Street Tour takes you to “Ura-Harajuku,” a side of Harajuku with many unique clothing and fashion accessory shops you might never spot without an expert. This tour costs 3,000 yen per person and takes 90 minutes.
The History Tour takes participants to some of Harajuku’s most iconic locations, including some unexpected spots like a local shrine and a street built over a river. This experience, which gives you a deeper understanding of Harajuku, also costs 3,000 yen per person and takes 90 minutes.
The final walk is called the Kawaii Fashion & Food Tour. As the name implies, while tracking down fashion, you’ll sample some of Harajuku’s most iconic treats, like takoyaki, cotton candy, crepes and more. This walk costs 7,500 yen per person and takes two hours.
All three walks are a great way to meet locals and take your Harajuku experience to a whole new level!
