Häagen-Dazs has announced its holiday limited edition flavor “Spécialité Pistachio and Berry,” which is available in convenience stores all around Japan. It’s the first time (yes, finally!) that the company is launching a pistachio-flavored ice cream in Japan.
Whenever we’ve had a bad day or just need to be treated to something soothing, we often turn to Häagen-Dazs. We find ourselves dropping in at the nearest convenience store, eyes glued to the little pots of ice cream, unable to choose which one among all delicious flavors. However, this holiday season might be a little different. After all, how could we resist tasting the “first pistachio-flavored Häagen-Dazs ice cream?” – especially when they’re packed in precious looking containers with “jewel” facets.
Made with only “Super Greens” – young pistachios that have been picked before the nutshells naturally break off – the pistachio ice cream has a vivid green color and is bursting with flavor. It’s layered with a sauce made from four types of berries (strawberry, cassis, raspberry, and cranberry), and on the bottom are crushed graham cookies mixed with the light caramel sweetness of blond chocolate (aka “the fourth type of chocolate”). Open the lid and you’ll be greeted with holiday silver sparkles. Slide your spoon in, and enjoy the pretty contrast of colored layers of the carefully selected ingredients as you make your way through.
Celebrating the brand-new launch, Häagen-Dazs will be collaborating with The Westin Tokyo Hotel. From November 21 to December 9, the hotel’s all-day dining establishment, The Terrace, is serving an international buffet, and is setting up a corner just for treating guests to an original “Spécialité”-arranged dessert plate. To top it all off, during the campaign dates, guests will also get to take home sweet souvenirs of two Häagen-Dazs ice cream cups per group.
According to a survey conducted by Häagen-Dazs, the months of November and December are when people are most up to treating themselves to a bit of luxury – and when people are in that holiday spirit, they’re most likely to dine out and spend some money on meals and treats. It’s also said that the end of the year is when people are to most likely to celebrate by throwing or attending home parties.
Either way, whether people are planning to dine out, getting together with family and friends, or just treating themselves to a little holiday indulgence, it’s safe to say that we’ll be seeing plenty of Häagen-Dazs’ “Spécialité Pistachio and Berry” showing up on tables around Tokyo very soon.
