For those times when you want to visit Kyoto but don’t have the time, Creative Office Haruka has created a high-resolution virtual reality version of the historical city.
The studio’s Kyoto VR Tour displays high-quality images of shrines, temples and other sightseeing spots in over 200 billion-pixel resolution. It covers 60 sightseeing spots of more than 300 scenes in Kyoto. These can also be licensed for creative Kyoto-related projects.
Unlike 360 panoramas such as Google’s street view, Kyoto VR Tour’s images are virtually free of bystanders, and are taken at multiple times of day and year can be selected to enjoy Kyoto from various angles. Additional information about the various sightseeing spots is available via the head-mounted display.
Creative Office Haruka also offers virtual tours of Hokkaido and Okinawa.
