Hacienda Oiso Festival is back with a belter of a lineup for 2013
What’s that? You want to go see Happy Mondays play at a sprawling bubble-era hotel by a pool overlooking the beach in Kanagawa on a late spring day? Well now you can. If 2012 was anything to go by, this is one to pen into your diaries…
The Hacienda Festival at Oiso beach back in 2012 had at its heart a desire to re-create the legendary club scene of 90s Manchester, and it turned out to be all that and more. A success in part thanks to fantastic weather and a lineup that rolled back the years in a surprisingly (for some) coherent way, it was one of the highlights of our year.
According to our report from last May there was more than a little glamour by the seaside as Peter Hook & The Light (with a New Order set), the Charlatans and DJs such as Carl Craig had many of us dancing right into the night.
This time round we have the aforementioned Happy Mondays to thank for filling the Sunday “headliner” slot while we wait for further announcements on another promised big name and an impressive list including Digitalism, James Zabiela, 808 State (live) and John Digweed to get us going on Saturday.
Look out for more announcements soon. Tickets go on sale on February 8 – see the website for more details, including early-bird discounts limited to the first 500: www.fac51thehacienda.jp
