Tokyo Designers Week turns blue for 2010
Thousands of visitors from across the world are expected to attend the 25th anniversary of Tokyo Designers Week, at Jingu Gaien on October 29.
The event has become a landmark on the international design calendar as each year the whole of Tokyo is transformed by special events and parties. This year is expected to be the biggest exhibition yet as record numbers of creators descend on the capital.
New Environmental Design Theme – ‘Love Blue’.
Tokyo based designer Gwenael Nicolas unveiled his vision for the annual event at a press conference last week. The new theme is entitled ‘Love Blue – Environmental Design Exhibition’, building on the success of last years ‘Green’ theme.
“The intension of this shift from ‘green’ to blue is to show our determination to serve a greater environmental purpose. Green signified plants and land whereas the Blue signifies the sky and sea, which unite the land together.” Nicolas said.
