Renowned photographer and director Mika Ninagawa has stepped into the world of furisode, a type of kimono most often worn by young women on coming-of-age day. The photographer and her fashion brand, M / mika ninagawa, first collaborated with furisode maker Ichikura back in 2017, and the kimonos were a huge success.
Now she’s back with her second collection, a total of seven different furisode available in Ichikura and Labliss stores. All the photography for the collection was done by Ninagawa herself with modeling by actress Aoi Morikawa.
