The Italian motorcycle manufacturer is taking a step beyond motors and carburetors by launching their very own clothing line, Metropolitan by Ducati.
The brand Ducati is already synonymous with the sporty little road devils imported from Italy, but it’s about to become a bit more stylish with another creative innovation from the Italian company. After all, Italy is one of the world’s fashion centers, so it only makes sense that Ducati is venturing into garment design.
According to the brand, the Metropolitan by Ducati collection is trying to appeal to a larger audience and gaining new customers – in other words, those who may not be so much interested in motorcycles, or are not familiar at all with the motorcycle manufacturer. However, with apologies to the ladies, this one is only for men . . . for now at least.
Metropolitan by Ducati is aimed for a more ‘mature’ – 30 to 40-year-old – male crowd, and men with a “cool and strong personality,” according to Ducati statements. Expect structured leather jackets, sleek but comfortable trousers, and some denim, collared shirts, as well as more casual, soft cotton t-shirts. Ducati has collaborated with fellow Italian brand Diesel in the past, so we’re expecting something similarly urban and perfect for daily wear.
The brand will be sold online and in some select department stores across Japan, coming up this autumn. You can catch the official unveiling of the Metropolitan by Ducati collection on September 7 at Velours Night Out (click for more information), Vogue’s Fashion Night Out after-party.
