Seeking a family-friendly day out as spring finally comes to Tokyo? International School of the Sacred Heart (ISSH) will hold its annual Family Festival on April 20 in Hiroo, celebrating the vibrance and diversity of the city and offering a chance to mix with locals and expats alike in an international atmosphere.
Entry to the festival is free and the school hopes you’ll enjoy the many international food booths — with dishes and snacks from over 15 countries — as well as dance performances, carnival games and a shopping bazaar.
A raffle will also be drawn in the afternoon — ticket sales have already begun but you can get yours on the day, before 3pm — with prizes coming from the event’s corporate sponsors: see the poster below for more info.
The neighborhood of Hiroo already has plenty to offer expat families, who are sure to know about the calm Arisugawa park and the adjacent National Azabu supermarket that reopened to much fanfare last year. ISSH offers all the more reason to visit on a Saturday in spring, no matter how the weather turns out.
When: April 20, 10am – 4pm (rain or shine!)
Where: ISSH Hiroo Campus
Proceeds will be used for educational programs at ISSH, as well as for charities in Japan and overseas supporting the healthcare and education of underprivileged children.
