The color of clothing is one of the crucial components together with form and decoration, and its interpretation varies across the world. Red was particularly significant in many cultures as a symbol of the sun or vitality, as an exorcising element, or to express power or glamor. This exhibition will display examples of red clothing from over 40 countries including Japan.
