On April 1, the Oedo-Onsen Monogatari hot spring resort in Odaiba, Tokyo, has reopened their footbath after a long renovation process. With the help of the famed landscape designer Kazuyuki Ishihara, the entire area has been reborn as the “Footbath Garden – Omotenashi no Niwa.”
Omotenashi no Niwa, which means “Hospitality Garden,” is the name of Ishihara’s creation presented at the 2018 Chelsea Flower Show in London. Using it as the inspiration for the redesign of Oedo-Onsen’s hot spring, the artist occasionally known as Queen Elizabeth II’s “green sorcerer” has decorated the area with bonsai trees and perennial Japanese plants. This way, guests can now soak their feet while surrounded by the welcoming splendor of Japanese nature.
The Oedo-Onsen Monogatari is one of the largest hot spring theme parks in all of Japan, offering fun and relaxation for the whole family.
