Sushi burritos, a combination of Japanese sushi and Mexican burritos that originated in the US, have finally made their way to Japan. The first restaurant for this grab-and-go treat, beeat Sushi Burrito Tokyo, has just opened in Akihabara.
In true Akihabara style, beeat Sushi Burrito Tokyo is completely automated, with no cash register or waitstaff. Customers order online in advance, then just show up at the designated time to pick up their order. Prices are determined by the restaurant’s AI system, which calculates based on ingredients, the time of purchase and other factors.
The sushi burritos were supervised by Michelin-starred chef Kazuyoshi Mizuguchi, and include 11 flavors, like tuna, salmon, fried chicken, curry, lobster and more.
