Riding the Ginza Line rails since 1983, Tokyo Metro’s Ginza Line Series 01 trains have carried thousands (probably millions) of passengers through good times and bad.
Marking its 34th year, the series will come to its end on March 10, and to commemorate the long-running, reliable train, Tokyo Metro is offering passengers a six-ticket package to ride the Series 01 one last time.
The retro-looking ticket packs are a set of six tickets for usage at major stations the Ginza Series 01 has run along, including stops from Asakusa to Ueno, where the Ginza line was first established. Passengers are invited to look back on the history of Series 01: all tickets include a photo from the past and moments from special occasions that the train has run through.
The 1,000 yen ticket packs are available from February 19 to February 25 from 8am to 8pm at a special booth set up at Nihonbashi Station’s B1 concourse Exit C4. Although the pre-sales event runs for 7 days, be careful not to take too much time: the limited 5,000 sets are sure to vanish quickly in a city of railway enthusiasts.

¥170 areas from Tokyo Metro Nihonbashi, Ginza, and Akasaka-mitsuke
