Orbi Yokohama is a super charged experience that will appeal to both nature freaks and video game geeks.
Coming up with something that is equal parts nature and tech, video game giant Sega has paired up with BBC Earth to provide what looks to be a spectacular experience. If you’re already glued to the TV whenever you watch the British broadcaster’s already impressive natural world shows, you’ll absolutely be blown away by this groundbreaking combo. Orbi promises you’ll see the planet like you’ve never seen it before, featuring cutting edge technology from Sega spliced interactively with nature footage.
This multi-sensory main show will allow visitors to journey through the deep sea, arctic regions, jungles and skies through a 40-meter wide screen, and the added wind, fog, smells, flashing lights and ultra stereo visitors should see our planet in a truly different light. A pre-show area is complete with life-size animal imagery, an icy arctic room with temperatures of -20 degrees, aerial flight videos and floating images representing the sea. The visit isn’t complete without a pit stop by the post-show area, where guests can recap and collect a few memories (or just have a refreshment at the cafe).
Orbi has been developed by teams in Japan and the UK for the past two years, and it’s finally being presented in Minatomirai, creating the ultimate family activity.
